Jammu & Kashmir to Experience Hot and Humid Conditions, Brief Rain Possible

Srinagar, August 14th: The meteorological department in Srinagar has issued a weather forecast predicting a continuation of hot, humid, and dry conditions across Jammu & Kashmir. While the possibility of a “brief spell” of rain at “isolated places” remains, this hasn’t been completely ruled out.

A meteorological department spokesperson highlighted that certain regions in the Jammu area experienced rain at isolated places, while the weather remained partly cloudy in the Ramban-Banihal area and the Kashmir valley.

“Over the next 24 hours, residents can expect mainly hot, humid, and dry weather. Although there’s a chance of rain occurring at isolated to scattered places in Jammu & Kashmir towards late afternoon and evening, the likelihood is relatively low,” the spokesperson stated.

Looking ahead to August 15th, the spokesperson indicated the potential for early morning showers in some parts of J&K, with the remainder of the day expected to remain dry. Notably, there is no significant rainfall predicted for the upcoming week.

The overnight temperature in Srinagar was recorded at 21.0°C, slightly lower than the previous night’s 21.6°C. Despite this decrease, the temperature remains 2.7°C above the summer capital’s normal range.

In Jammu district, the minimum temperature reached 23.6°C, compared to the previous night’s 26.1°C. This temperature was 1.4°C below the winter capital’s usual readings.
