In light of the upcoming G-20 meeting and related events scheduled to be held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) on 22nd and 23rd May, 2023, the Srinagar Traffic Police has released a traffic plan to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize congestion during the meeting. With a large number of delegates from India and abroad expected to attend, it is crucial to implement necessary traffic restrictions and alternate routes to avoid any inconvenience to the general public.

On 22nd May 2023, traffic movement on Boulevard Road, starting from Nehru Park and extending up to Kralsangri, will be restricted from 10:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Similarly, on 23rd May 2023, the same stretch of Boulevard Road will have restricted traffic movement from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. This restriction is imposed to facilitate the smooth movement of delegates and ensure their security during the G-20 meeting.

To mitigate the impact of these restrictions, motorists intending to travel towards Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan are advised to use the alternate road via Dalgate, Rainawari, and Hazratbal, instead of the Boulevard Road axis. Traffic assistance points will be set up at Badyari, Nehru Park, Gupkar, Kralsangri, and Nishat to facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles towards Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan.

Similarly, motorists planning to travel from Harwan, Shalimar, Nishat, and other adjacent areas towards Lal Chowk are advised to take the Foreshore-Hazratbal route instead of the Nishat-Boulevard Road axis to reach their destinations. Traffic assistance points will be established at Shalimar, Nishat, Kralsangri, Habbak Crossing, Duck Park, and Habak Crossing to ensure a hassle-free commute towards Lal Chowk.

Tourists who intend to visit Mughal Gardens and other destinations are strongly advised to follow the traffic advisory to avoid any inconvenience or delays.

For the convenience of locals and tourists traveling from Nehru Park, the recommended route is via Gagribal and Buchwara Road, exiting through Dalgate. Additionally, a one-way route will be followed from the UNO office, CD Hospital up to Nehru Park. Motorists planning to travel from Gulab Bagh, Zakoora, Naseembagh, Habbak, and adjacent areas are advised to take the Habak-Dargah-Khanyar route to reach Lal Chowk instead of the Foreshore Road.

To maintain smooth traffic flow, it is essential for motorists to park their vehicles only at designated parking places and refrain from parking on the roadside. Vehicles found parked improperly will be towed away.

In cases of emergencies, vehicles will be permitted to take the shortest route. Citizens requiring assistance or information are encouraged to contact the Traffic Police Control Room at the number 103. We apologize for any inconvenience caused during this period.
