In a bid to strengthen the Anti-Infiltration Grid (Tier-II) and bolster border security, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has given the green light for the creation of 607 new positions. These posts will be dedicated to the establishment of 42 additional Border Police Posts (BPPs) across the region.

The decision was made through a government order (No. 250-Home of 2023) issued on May 11th, 2023. The order references various letters, including communications from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Police Headquarters of Jammu and Kashmir, which highlight the urgent need for heightened security measures along the border.

The recruitment process will focus on hiring skilled professionals, including 39 Sub Inspectors, 50 Assistant Sub Inspectors, 88 Head Constables, and 430 SGCT/Constables. These positions will be offered at different pay levels, ranging from Level 2 (19900-63200) to Level 6-C (35700-113100).

The creation of these new positions is expected to have a significant impact on border security in the region. Jammu and Kashmir has experienced a rise in border infiltrations and other security threats in recent years.

With the establishment of additional BPPs and the recruitment of trained professionals, the government aims to curb these security threats and provide enhanced safety to the residents of the region.

Official Notification

Local officials and residents have welcomed this move, viewing it as a positive step toward improving security in the area. The government has reassured its commitment to continuously enhance border security in Jammu and Kashmir, taking all necessary measures to safeguard the well-being of residents.
