WhatsApp Developing Multi-Account Support Feature and Video Messages for Android and iOS Users

In an effort to enhance user experience and convenience, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will enable users to access multiple WhatsApp accounts from a single device simultaneously. This feature, which is being developed specifically for Android users, aims to provide a seamless way for individuals to switch between different accounts on their device, similar to the functionality offered by Instagram.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, when users set up an additional account for the first time, it will be stored on their device until they choose to log out. This means that users can easily switch between accounts whenever desired.

The report also suggests that the app will store the passwords for these accounts, allowing for quick and effortless switching with just a single tap. A menu displaying the list of logged-in accounts will be presented, and users can simply select the profile they wish to open, mirroring the user experience found in Instagram.

The implementation of the multi-account feature is expected to provide greater convenience for WhatsApp users, enabling them to keep their personal and work-related chats separate within a single app. The separation of accounts will not only help maintain privacy but also facilitate efficient notification management and effortless switching between different accounts, eliminating the need for parallel apps.

While the multi-account feature was initially observed in the WhatsApp Business app for Android, it remains uncertain whether it will be limited to business accounts only. The feature is currently in development and is slated to be made available to beta testers in a forthcoming update of the app.

In addition to the multi-account support, WhatsApp is also rumored to be working on a new video messages feature for both Android and iOS users. Similar to voice notes, this feature will enable users to record video messages lasting up to 60 seconds.

To utilize this functionality, users will need to wait for the microphone icon to transform into a video button, at which point they can simply press and hold to record their video message before sending it.

WhatsApp continues to explore innovative features and improvements to enhance its messaging platform and cater to the evolving needs of its vast user base.

The introduction of multi-account support and video messages is expected to further enrich the user experience, offering greater flexibility and convenience in communicating through the popular messaging app.
